Poppy finds that being the Maiden is a lonely and sad position. Spending your life preparing to meet the gods and to be found worthy isn’t what she wants to be doing. She doesn’t really have a choice because that was made for her but when she meets an intriguing new guard named Hawke things get interesting. Meeting him changes the entire trajectory of her life and things will not go as planned.
