I liked the concept, but I can't say I enjoyed this one. I loved the idea of a completely female world in which women were leaders and warriors, mothers and daughters, scientists and servants. They loved and feared, helped and fought, wondered and distrusted each other... seeing women in such a variety of roles is so rare in sci-fi that I loved it! Also, I always like an unreliable narrator. However, I found the sheer yuckiness of the world-building difficult. There's lots of blood and pus and teeth and weird organic stuff. I was grossed out a lot of the time. Cool concept, but a bit too visceral for me.
