After reading the first four books in the BTU alum series, I knew we'd be getting Maddey's story soon and I COULD NOT WAIT. The proclaimed queen of smut, always writing these great romances but not getting one of her own? No way. Maddey's inner monologue was hysterical, and I can only imagine that's really what the inside of an authors head looks like. For being such a romantic writer, she really closed herself off to love and happily ever afters so I loved watching her slowly fall for Dex and letting herself believe it was real.

Dex was a different kind of hero so far in these books and I really loved how much he cared for Maddey and how he would truly do anything to protect her. Their love is so pure and I adore them! One of my favorite lines in this book, and any book at this point, comes from Dex... "You trust me because I've always been your shelter in the storm" CUE ME SWOONING. OMG. If that alone doesn't convince you to read this book, I don't know what will!
