An act of translation is always an act of betrayal.
Don't talk to me. I loved this book sooo much!
I laughed, cried, screamed - the end broke me.
The subject of colonialism was incredibly interesting and the characters - I loved every single one! Also, as someone who is fascinated by languages, this book was sooo informative and I learned so much!
However, Ramy's death killed me. How?! I mean, I knew someone was goingt to die, but Ramy? And Griffin? And Robin?!
And we never got to know his name ...
I had hopes for Letty, but -surprise - she betrayed them all ...
Finally, I can only strongly recommend 'Babel'. Please read it!
My first ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️-book this year!
