Fade In by M. Mabie

"Sometimes a few things have to fade out to make room for better things to fade in."
This book was very cute and sweet and sexy. I really loved Tatum as a main character because she was sassy and witty and hilarious. Even though sometimes I thought she was a little over the top, I still generally enjoyed her character. And Ben's character.. swoon Ben was my idea of perfection. I loved the fact that Ben was so sweet to her and always calling her baby, and wanting to help her as much as he could. Also, the fact that he loves reading gave him bonus points haha. I thought Ben's character was really complex, and after learning more and more about his character and his past, it only made me like him more. Ben said a lot of sweet, quotable things, like: "Tatum, just because something is in the dark doesn't mean it won't shine."
This book reminded a lot of Rainbow Rowell's "Landline" because just like Georgie, Tatum works as a comedy tv show writer, and there is even a character named Neil in this book too! What are the chances? It also reminded me of Landline because of the relationship aspect and it's sweet and easy to read just like that book was.
I loved this unique idea about reading about a girl who is slowly losing her sight, and although I wish there would have been a little more depth added to that aspect of the story, I still really enjoyed it. My sight is something I take for granted, and I liked reading from the perspective of someone who was going blind. I also loved reading about Ben and Tatum's vacations to California, and Florida, and The Keys, it was very cute and romantic. I love the fact that they live in New York because that's one of my favorite places in the world. Also, Winnie and Coopers characters were just as funny and entertaining as Tatum herself. Cooper was an adorable protective older brother and Winnie was an adorable best friend to her, and I love the fact that Cooper and Winnie were getting married. I also loved all the side drama with Kurt and what an asshole he was throughout the story.
Even though Tatum got on my nerves towards the end with her drastic, quick decisions, I still appreciated and loved this book. If you're looking for a romantic, beautiful, and sexy love story, then this is it.
