I don’t really know how to rate this. I didn’t read this exact translation but I just read Alcestis because I finished The Silent Patient and wanted to see it. I guess it didn’t live up to expectations. I love Greek mythology and Greek literature is so dense but very interesting. I like the character of Alcestis partly because of who I built her to be in my mind. I think the play could’ve been a little longer at the end and I don’t know if I really understood it at all but it was a quick read just for context for the book I read yesterday. I need to get better at reading Greek literature because I’m so fascinated by it, so I thought I’d try this one out.
