A Thief and a Gentleman by Arden Powell

Thank you to Booksprout for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
A sweet story of friendship and love but I found the heist plotline and the slow burn a little boring. Couples from past books in the series are also featured, though I haven't read the full series and didn't remember the couples from the books I did read... It might be better to read this series closer together to better remember character plotlines and the rules of this alternative history.
The innate magic use of this world is interesting and it's treated more of a quirk than something more extraordinary, on the account of most everyone has use of it. You could remove the magic elements and it would be much the same story.
My ARC copy had a few typos but nothing too glaring.
This series would probably appeal to fans of steampunk and urban fantasy, and fans of books like Rowling's Fantastic Beasts franchise, as it has that feel though without any imaginary technology elements.
