While this wasn’t quite what I had hoped for this was a perfectly solid story that I’m not upset about reading.
I did feel like the story was a touch rushed and I wanted there to be more back and forth about if Gabriel could trust what he was seeing. That whole plot line was neatly wrapped up by the 5% mark basically and it’s a bummer because it’s a good one.
While there’s definitely some darker elements in the character background it’s much less explicit than other Merikan books.
