Amazing. I had heard from many people that this was amazing, and I am glad I finally got to experience it for myself. We read this with our Year 7 (sixth grade) English B class as part of a unit on how the past affects the present. Incredibly powerful, both as a piece of Holocaust fiction and as a piece of outstanding literature. We incorporated study of the Holocaust through the USHMM, Google Maps overlay, survivor testimonies, photos and more. This book is the ideal way to introduce middle schoolers to the Holocaust, in my humble opinion.
