I just couldn’t do it anymore. The writing was simple. The author didn’t expect the readers to come to any conclusions on their own, she treated the readers like they were dumb; planting a seed and then immediately spelllng out in the narrative what that seed meant. The main character was annoying and her character traits were contradictory. One minute she’s so brave and she hates Tamlin and the next minute she’s being submissive and he’s “making her core throb.” No thanks. Also: fairyland was overwhlemed with men. The only other woman is the old chubby maid that befriends her… so there is no female competition. In a nutshell: Bella Swan + Katniss Everdeen + hot fairies. That’s the book (up to 31% anyway).
