4.5 stars. This book felt like a setup for the third. Plenty happened, and it was interesting all the way through, but even though some questions were answered, we were left with more questions by the end of it. I rounded up instead of down because SpoilerI love that Micah never chooses to be male or female, but is getting comfortable being non-binary. Whether wearing skirts or bindings, still just a little Kedi. Being intersex and gender fluid and having a fluid sexuality is something I've never read before, and even though a Kedi is a magical creature and whathaveyou, Micah's struggles to feel comfortable and find inner peace feels very relevant and real. I look forward to reading the next book!
