A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
OMG... what can I say about this book that has not already been said?!
To say it was nothing short of amazing would be an understatement. In this first installment, we meet Feyre, a young woman from a destitute family who is the sole provider. With the money gone and her father non-committed, she ventures on a hunt when she mistakenly encounters a wolf an kills it, not knowing that he is a High Fae. As penance for the infraction, she is forced to leave her family to live out her sentence in Prythian, home of the High Fae, Tamlin.
Without giving too much of the plot away, This story gives "Beauty and the Beast/The Hunger Games" vibes. If you enjoy the romance of Beauty and the Beast, and the action adventure like that present in The Hunger Games, you will thoroughly enjoy this book.
I'm on to Book Two! Another review to follow!
