This doesn’t happen often, but I preferred the series version of this book. Though a fun read, the choices made in the series made the story fuller and brought Dash & Lilly’s story to life in a way the book could have done better. I did appreciate some extra scenes and details in the book like Dash’s interest in the Oxford dictionary and the fact that Lilly doesn’t kiss Tibau and Dash isn’t as in to Sophia in the book as in the series, not to mention the beautiful friendship that ends up blooming between them But, in my opinion, the show was better. Plus, it had more diversity in the characters (in the book everyone is white).
Keeping this all in mind, I must say my opinion may be skewed since I absolutely adore the show and watched it before reading the book.
