This book follows Father (Tyler) Bell, who is a Priest in the catholic church. He became a priest three years ago, after his hard past and trying to find his way. We follow him as he meets Poppy, who comes in for a confession despite not being catholic. Right away Tyler is intrigued by her and her story, despite not even set eyes on her yet. As Poppy continues to go to the church to do confessions, they eventually meet and sparks fly right away. Despite his oath to the church, Tyler cannot help himself when it comes to Poppy and that leads to their forbidden romance.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book!!
I wish I connected with the characters a bit more, but I still enjoyed their story! I think these characters could've been fleshed out a bitttt more as well! Both characters did have their pasts, but I honestly felt like we could have gotten more from them. It seems a little repetitive and surface-level when speaking about their hardships.
I knew this book was going to be spicy, BUT HOLY SPICE!!! Sierra Simone did not disappoint on that at all. With that being said, I almost wish we got a little bit less of it and a little more conversation between our characters since they were both in the unknown and hard territory. Tyler literally only thought about his guilt in breaking his oath and wanting to bang Poppy, so it got to be repetitive there for me lol.
I also have mixed feelings about the ending! Of course, I love a HEA, but with their story, I'm not entirely sure that's how I wanted it to end. In the end, I did enjoy it but I just wanted a little bit more!
I definitely recommend it, and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
