Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
5.0
How do I even begin to express my feelings about this book? It's a solid five stars. Not an oh-my-god-amazing-sauce five stars, but solid. I don't even think I can coherently talk about how much this book was amazing. The friendships, the tiny romance, the WORLD BUILDING, the DRAGONS, the religion, the tribes, the races, the themes: racism, power, inclusion. Everything was epic.
The last two hundred pages were the best. They definitely bounced it up. Once they began to go straight after Galbatorix I could NOT STOP READING. I'm glad it was the weekend because I read a hella lot.
This is one of those amazing children's novels where it's timeless and for any age. The harsher themes are subtle for younger readers, but boy is the book powerful. I loved it. I was never bored. And I will recommend these books to everyone.
I wasn't even mad about the ending or the romance. Christopher did things so well and how it concluded felt right. I want to spend more time with people, particularly Nasuada. I love the trope of a person fixing a kingdom and I think Nasuada would definitely scratch that itch. I love her. I love her. I love her.
I hope the short story collection features her and a special someone!!
