What the hell was that?! Is this the jumping-the-shark moment for Pendargast?!

We begin with an intriguing mystery. We are introduced to our reporter character (a investigative journalist). Our bossy higher-up (some US senator). And the nice and competent police person, who just doesn't want any trouble.

We have Agent Coldmoon, who's always good to read. And we have Constance, doing Constance-y stuff. And we have the really creepy relationship between her and Pendergast, luckily not on the forefront.

But what the hell was that ending?!
SpoilerTime-traveling vampire?!
I truly don't know what to feel about this. And we end with a cliffhanger. This is probably gonna be another trilogy. Let's see where it goes now.
