This is pretty silly and unrealistic wish fulfillment overall, but unlike some other books I've read lately, I thought this one would be more up my alley because Rafe has more traits I'm into than a lot of the others (i.e. he's not a jealous asshole). By the halfway point I was pretty annoyed with this though and couldn't figure out why exactly. I think part of it was I really didn't like how this narrator did Rafe's voice at all. I suspect his dialogue would have still been pretty cringey on the page, but this voice acting definitely didn't help. The plot was definitely not the focus of this book, so that made it harder to look past my dislike of Rafe's dialogue/voice. I knew it wasn't a super long book, but

when the epilogue time jump popped up, I couldn't believe that was it.

Overall it felt like a follow up novella that might be bonus content on an author's website after a more fully fleshed out novel.
