Biologist go brrr. That scene with what she becomes has never left my mind since I first read this, nor has the ending.
I think this trilogy is one I will always whip out as a solid recommendation for a readable, atmospheric and deeply compelling work, that does encourage you to think about change, control, and powerlessness. Or, in other words, annihilation, authority, and acceptance.
