JD & Gabrielle: These Two Are Too Damn Hot For Me! -5 Stars
This is the second book featuring naughty duo, JD & Gabrielle, where we pick up where we last left off; at the fire at Gabrielle's hotel and Garbielle missing amongst the fire and smoke.
The second half held as much intrigue and naughty bits as the previous book, DEPRAVED. Many secrets came to light and none of them were good. We get to find out the reason why Gabrielle was sent away by JD and why he rejected her and pushed her away. JD and Gabrielle's love was put to the test when tragedy strikes, and the skeletons fall out of their closet. Forcing them to both slay individual demons from the past. Most of them lead to JD's father, the newly elected president of the U.S.
The best thing about books written in dual POV is that we get a direct view into the character's thoughts and what they are feeling in the scene. Ms. Charles does an excellent job of giving you a play by play from both sides, oftentimes in the next chapter with the same scene playing out. Brilliant! We got to see JD's caring, nurturing and patient side come out to take care of Gabrielle after tragedy and we got to see grief through the eyes of Gabrielle and her need to move past the survivor's guilt she suffered from.
The love scenes were passionate, smexy, and bizarrely therapeutic for both characters. IMO, this was an excellent way to show two characters heal each other beautifully while satisfying my selfish need for a little smut action. LOL I
If you have not acquainted yourself with Ms. Charles work, you need to get on it STAT! If you've read DEPRAVED, you already know what you're in for concerning triggers. If not, I advise you to please read them.
For those who like to go in blind and are not easily offended and like your reads spicy, this series is the one! I guarantee, you'll fall in love with JD and Gabrielle as I have. And excellent HEA for this amazing couple!
