i wanted to get through all of the nora roberts catalogue w/ as few dnfs as possible, but i'm tossing this one. protagonist and love interests are legally first cousins.. stepfamily incest is too weird for me, but i know some of you get wild and do not gaf. even if that doesn't bother you, though, this book is still weird. it's like nora (we're on a first name basis now) doesn't know why all her protagonists are so angry, either. serenity gets angry about things that make no sense. 

made it through the first three chapters, and for the '82 books that's basically the whole story, anyway. after this a female rival for mc would have appeared, mc would assume love interest likes the rival more (based on literally zero evidence), the love interest would correct this assumption in the final act and then they would share one fade-to-black sex scene after randomly getting married in chapter 9
