I ADORED the first book to the point of dropping my TBR (which doesn't happen often) to read the sequel and when I tell you that I'm disappointed... it fucking hurts. I feel Dylan levels of dramatic with this review because it had all of the tropes that I hate. From the second chapter, I started taking notes about why this book may not be for me. I honestly should've DNFed because all of my worries came into fruition.
One of my biggest bookish icks with romance stories is when the love interests have current relationships that end up being collateral damage for the main couple. Poor Mikey. I know that this happens in real life, but I don't want to spend my time reading about Arthur breaking an innocent heart. I don't feel like Mario had the same level of ick because Mario wasn't surprised and they weren't defining the relationship, but Mikey... poor dude.
