I wanted to read this book due to the fact it’s main setting takes place where I live. The Inland Empire location made this read very fun to experience, since I could easily picture the environment and cities that the characters explore. I knew this was a detective thriller, and I’m not the biggest fan of those types of thrillers. I don’t think this was a bad book. The plot twist was a bit underwhelming but I think the book was well done. I won’t be reading the sequel since it just wasn’t my favorite. I think I had more of an interest in learning about the setting.
