99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne
3.0
I really enjoyed this, probably the same amount as the hating game. I thought the conflicts and tensions were actually realistic to be honest. I understand why someone wouldn't like Darcy, but I think that's kind of the point. She has a chronic condition and she grew up spoiled and rich, so yeah.
I also wanted to address some people who say this is different from The Hating Game, to the point she was trying to make completely opposite characters. I think the core personality traits are different from Lucy and Josh's dynamic, but the writing style is just as heavily Sally Thorne. After reading this and Second First Impressions, the quirkiness of the characters regardless of their core personality traits just...sticks with these two. I think The Hating Game characters were probably the most relatable to most people, which is why this book falls flat for a lot of people. I think a lot of scenarios, dialogue, and description is still heavily like The Hating Game, but if you adored Josh and Lucy's dynamic and character, this one may not work for you.
