Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran
3.0
By the end of the book, I felt like I had enjoyed it. But I struggled through the first half a little bit. I felt there were too many characters that I knew were interconnected, but I couldn't keep track of who belonged to which person and why they mattered. So it was hard to really connect with the story. It was interesting to learn about the Roman Empire, but again, with the story including Egypt and Greece and Rome, it felt like too many cultures going on at once.
The second half of the book I started getting into it more. It started to focus more on certain characters, and I may have gotten accustomed enough to all the different people, that I connected more with the story. Much like Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen, I liked learning about a time and place I know little about. But I would have to say I enjoyed Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen better than this book. The mystery and discovery going on towards the end of the book was exciting, and by the end I felt like I did like this book. Just didn't love it.
