One of the characters is Roma, and both the characters and the author are super weird about it (read "non-malicious" racism) (all racism is malicious). It's a shame--I was recommended this because I've never read a romance novel before, and this is supposed to one of the best ones with the hurt/comfort trope. It was a wonderful read otherwise, but I can't in good conscience rate it like that.
