Blaze by Suzanne Wright

I sat on it for a whole day trying to decide why I didn't like this as much as Burn, a true dilemma really , but I came up with two probable reasons -

A. There wasn't much of Knox here. Yes, he was there but we never really got to know him more than what we already know about him from the previous book. It was a bit like stretching out what was already there. We knew that he never had a pleasant childhood, hence the reason for his "controlling" nature. The author just added a few more sentences to his story in Blaze.

Even if we forget about Knox for a second, I noticed that a lot many things were repeated from the previous book. All the same intros about demons, lairs, primes, anchors, Isla, etc etc. I get it that when this installment was released, it was after quite some time since Burn had been published (2015 people!), but since I'm reading it all now in one go, it's getting on my nerves. Some sentences were exactly copy pasted too.

B. We got the same stuff all over again!
Don't lie to me, even you expected
SpoilerHarper to get kidnapped again
& that's exactly what happened. I was literally waiting for it. Also what's with them always going to restaurants, always emphasizing how Harper never picks what she wants to drink, and just how much Knox likes to do it for her.

Don't get me wrong but I'm absolutely a sucker for whatever's happening in the demon world right now yet it seems like only the setting has changed while MCs are still very much stuck in the previous book.
