Knockout by Sarah MacLean
5.0
Someone has been planting explosives at the locations of clandestine operations supported by the Hell’s Belles, and Lady Imogen Loveless and her penchant for incendiary devices are about to crack the case. It just so happens that her presence at these sites is an agitation—a frustration, if you will—to Detective Inspector Thomas Peck of Scotland Yard. He wants to solve these crimes and Lady Imogen’s presence is a distraction, a liability, and a hindrance to his investigation. If only she would share her findings with him and stop putting herself in danger, things would go so much more smoothly for Tommy.
Many in the ton think Lady Imogen is simply too much, but to Tommy, she’s just too good for him. She’s the chaos to his order, and when he is tasked with serving as her guard, the forced proximity makes their combustible chemistry too enticing to resist. They are opposites in many ways, and yet, together they are the perfect fit.
I simply adore Imogen and Tommy. This is my favorite Hell’s Belles pairing to date.
I love how he wants to take care of her. And I love how she is a firecracker in the best way.
Plus, Sarah MacLean brings some delicious heat in this one, and I’m always a fan of a hero with strong thighs.
I highly recommend listening to this one on audio. The audiobook is a delight, and I especially enjoyed how Mary Jane Wells portrays Imogen relishing the sounds that remind her of explosive reactions.
