White Mughals: Love and Betrayal in Eighteenth-Century India by William Dalrymple
3.0
Dalrymple is an engaging writer at times, but this book is a bit uneven. He doesn't always tie all the strands of the story together well. There's also too much ancillary material that should be relegated to footnotes. But the overall story and some of the interesting factoids that Dalrymple shares about India - especially in south India - are quite engaging.
