Talking of Muskaan by Himanjali Sankar
3.0
I really like what the author is trying to do with this book - tackle homophobia and coming out among Indian high school students. I also like how the book shifts perspectives and shows us what was happening with Muskaan from all her friends' points of view. But unfortunately, these characters didn't ring true to me for the most part. They didn't sound like the Indian teenagers I know. They all sounded like they were just mimicking American school children and that took away from the potential authenticity of the story.
