There were large chunks of this book I vibed with, but some parts I absolutely didn’t—like her confused account of how national morals degraded in the ‘50s through ‘70s, rather than the shattering of illusions it actually was. That and the spiritual stuff really soured me on the remainder of the book, not helped by the increasing tendency to meander in the back-half.

Still, some useful stuff earlier on and definitely a book that will impress on my parenting style once we have a kid here in a few months.
