2.5 for this book
3 to 3.5 for the series

Obviously I am in the minority, but this series just didn't wow me. For the fantasy/world building aspect, it is basic and unmemorable. George is the shining star, and I wish there had been even more moments with his character. If you're a seasoned HF reader, I wouldn't discourage reading it, but there's 50+ other series to read before this one.

I disliked Liam immensely and felt his character was completely useless. It was just another man for Alanna to fall in love with..ugh.
