The Sullivan Sisters by Kathryn Ormsbee
3.0
3.5/5 stars
This edition was an ARC. I was not provided the ARC by the author or publishing company but rather by the bookstore where I attend a YA book club.
First off, I love the cover and its subtle and yet bold use of color. The cover is what first influenced me to choose this book.
I would describe The Sullivan Sisters as a coming-of-age story and mystery. It tells the story of 3 sisters, each coping with a loss, and their journey to find meaning and answers while solving a family mystery.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. I struggled with the omniscient narration covering each sister’s point POV. I wish each sister’s POV would have been in first person. That said, I did like how the book was broken up into different years, days, and sisters. I found it to be an enjoyable mystery that kept my attention. I also found the characters very relatable and authentic and loved watching their individual journeys.
I recommend this book.
