House of Ash and Glass by Silla Webb, S.R. Jones, S.R. Jones

A modern day retelling of Cinderella.

After her mother and father have died Cindy is left with her horrible step mother and sisters. When Cindy’s father died he left her trust and house to her step mother, but when Cindy turns 22 she can legally access what is hers. The trouble is there might not be much left, her step mother has turned her ancestral home into a bed & breakfast. With funds dwindling, Cindy’s step grandfather arranges, a marriage between Cindy’s stepmother and crime boss Nico.
Nico is in a notorious crime boss, who can’t stand the idea of being married to the evil stepmother, while some of his business is legitimate,The Board of Directors want him to clean up his playboy image and being married will do that.
When his desires to have Cindy, throw a wrench in the plans to marry the stepmother, Nico finds a way around that .

This book was great, I didn’t want to put it down always wondering what was coming next. While Nico might have been crude and unapologetic about who he is, his need to be around Cindy and his desire for her was unmatched.
He is obsessive, possessive, protective, and overbearing.
Loved everything about him.
Cindy appears weak in the beginning but she learns just how strong and amazing she is.
