Loved this book! Delightful mix of magic, escapism, adventure, and some family bonding. I also want to add that there are a few animal companions of the main characters, and nothing happens to the animals! They are safe and sound the whole time. (When the dog was introduced I was so scared something was going to happen to it but didn't know how to Google it while avoiding spoilers for the book, so this is me telling you that no animals are endangered or harmed in this book!)
