This book was good but I wasn't in love with it. It was longer than the other three and it also felt kinda like two books in one? By the end I was looking back at the beginning of the story wondering how it was the same book.
The main character is so unlikeable and even when you're sympathizing with him, you still don't like him.
I do see how it is helpful to have background for other books, however, I don't feel like I necessarily care about Snow so it was harder to stay engaged. I think this book is for Hunger Games super fans and if you're not that, I think it's good not great.
Almost all of my Goodreads friends rated it a 3 and I think that's very fitting.
