I read this book because I was so impressed with the courage and composure evidenced by Cassidy Hutchinson when she testified before the January 6 Committee. I enjoyed hearing her backstory including her early years in New Jersey and she inspiration to become a public servant and Republican. Some of the accounts of life in the Trump White House dragged but the recounting of Hutchinson’s decision to give up on the Trump-paid lawyer and tell the truth about what happened through the end of the book was inspiring. I did not know that what allowed Hutchinson to break free and testify was the willingness of Alston & Bird in Atlanta to take her on as a pro bono client. Hutchinson’s initial inability to retain counsel due to funding issues led to use a lawyer provided by Trump.
