A Merry Little Meet Cute by Sierra Simone, Julie Murphy

Spicy and Sweet with a social message too
I really enjoyed this audiobook. I wasn’t sure what the story would be after I read the blurb, this story delivered on Christmas romance.
Bee was a curvy plus size woman who just wanted all the same things her fellow thinner peers wanted in their respective careers. A fair chance to be seen and accepted wasn’t something Bee was used.
So when uncle Teddy gave her a chance to star in a lead of a Christmas movie, Bee thought this could be her first real break.
Nolan Shaw (Kolawaski) was also looking for a second shot at a career after his stint in a reality boy band ended with him being poor after their manager ran off with their money.
Nolan was trying to find a profitable way to care for his teenage sister Mail and his mother who suffered from Bipolar disorder.
The filing of Duke the Halls was entertaining, not just because of Bee and her background, but the friends that tagged along to set and their antics. The dialogue was witty and endearing, and who doesn’t love a hero who desperately wants to take care of his family even to the exclusion of his own needs. The attraction between Bee and Nolan was electric and it was real. It was sexy and fun but most importantly, it felt authentic. I loved their intimate secret times together because it wasn’t about pleasing others as actors, but about physical pleasure of each other.
The juxtaposition of porn and hallmark was a riot. The hypocrisy of the tv watchers was also called out. The only one who didn’t get his comeuppance was Dominic and I hope he does.
This holiday romance was such a good read that I hope these two authors continue writing together.
