A man is kept in solitary confinement for 40 years for a crime he did not commit. His dedication to prison reform inspires others to take action. The depths of his suffering and endurance are not framed as uplifting, and I'm happy about that. This is an honest and insightful account of a senseless act. I learned so much about the corruption of the carceral system from someone who suffered from it directly.
