This was a beautiful story artfully woven with LGBTQIA+ history, star crossed love, and moving past your life long pains to grow. It's a one sided POV from August, which I enjoyed because we got to keep Jane's story more of a mystery. I will say that I really got into reading the book about 2/3 of the way in. That's when the story picks up more and we're getting questions answered. Before that it wasn't a hard book to read by any means, but maybe a bit difficult to pick up? It's a bit of a slow burn as far as the story narrative goes, but so worth the wait when you get to the end. I have heard that listening to it may be easier (I usually enjoy listening to books like this more myself. I don't notice how long it takes to get somewhere when I'm multitasking). But, I highly rec this book. I was continuously blown away by the way McQuiston writes. I can't wait to see how their writing will grow with future books.
