The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix

4.0

This book has been on a lot of lists so today seemed like a good day to give it a shot. I started out hating it - really hating it. The premise is a vampire moves in and the women in a local book club take him on. The women seemed vapid, crushed in spirit by their overbearing husbands and the vampire was of course preying on kids from the wrong end of town- so who cares. Ugh. Then I got it. This is no Buffy the Vampire Slayer but scathing social commentary. Turned into a scary ,fun ,slightly gruesome read that I definitely would recommend. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
