This is probably my least favorite book in the series so far....which doesn't mean it's bad!
It has more to do with the fact that this is the one relationship that has gotten the most build-up but after all that, doesn't feel like much happened. There seemed to be a lot of reliance on the fact that you would've read previous books in the series (which honestly, you should've), but also not much digging below the surface. There were so many scenes throughout that didn't necessarily take up much time, but also felt totally pointless by the end. Everything to do with Nate's friend Alex just felt like, "should I know this character? does she have a book too?", all the stuff with Becca's sister....nothing really came of any of it. In prior books, a lot of was made of Nate having Becca come to stay at his house after her concussion so that she has peace and quiet. Ultimately....that wasn't anything. Nothing happened. There was a lot of, "I've been resting for two weeks!" but we saw NONE of that two weeks. The story just kept getting pushed forward in the timeline without spending any effort to show us what was going on.
I liked both of them well enough, but didn't feel like I learned anymore about them then I already knew. Again, wasn't bad but really could've benefitted from digging in a little more.
