oh my goodness that was emotionally beautiful.. Started out low and i will admit i was not taking a ashining to Kennedy or rather her attitude towards Johnny but as the story moved foraward you get her POC via her writing in the "this notebook is property of KG" chapters, very clever way of doing flashbacks and conveying Kennedy's hurt and hesitance but also her thought process. 

I especially liked that it wasn't the typical 'secret baby hidden from their abscent parent' but rather he knew (eventually) once he was sober enough to go back to her and Ken thought of MAddie first, telling Johnny that he can be in her life on the condition that her is sober and well and intending to stay so that Maddie doesn't get the same heartache Kennedy did on her own 5th birthday. p.s. MAddie is a riot.
