I really, really struggled with this book and I probably should have DNF'd. The writing was good, and that's about the only thing I can say about this that I liked. Which is to say that this isn't bad, but it was very much not for me. It felt really pretentious while criticizing that same attitude in film and theatre. The adult/teen relationships were throwing up all kinds of red flags, which I think was intentional, but never really resolved. And there were so many extra things going on that didn't really seem to add to the story besides just increasing the drama and angst. This is the book for someone, and I can acknowledge that, but it isn't for me.
