Nicole and Tom are a simple couple who have won the lottery and live in an ultra-modern glass house on the Welsh border. Their nearest neighbours are a nice couple in the manor house, and the housekeeper. Then Tom is found dead in the swimming pool, his old school friend turns up to help Nicole in her grief, strangers are spotted in the countryside and things may not be all they seem...
I didn't find the characters particularly three dimensional, but there were certainly a few plot twists thrown in that I wasn't expecting and the author kept the pages turning. The floundering police investigating the death seemed almost to be there for the sake of it and didn't add much to the story.
Slightly irritating final couple of chapters when we hear about the "aftermath" but ultimately a decent enough read of its type
