The Year of Magical Thinking: The Play by Joan Didion

emotional reflective sad fast-paced

4.0

I started reading this book version of the one-person play right after completing the actual book 'The Year of Magical Thinking' because I was so succinctly held by Joan Didion's writing but wasn't yet in place that I would be able to pick any other work by her yet.
This play (monologue) is a shortened version of the book. It has picked up most of the lines written there and does add some really harrowing words of its own. Will probably re-read this almost any day when I need my heart to be held softly and just understood.
