Asylum by Madeleine Roux

4.0

Got hooked from the first page. The first line and the first quote.

This book absolutely sent chills down the spine, of course the pictures made the story look more realistic and horrifying.

Moreover it is a really interesting story of how people were related to this asylum. I absolutely loved the story. It was a really good read for me. God it was haunting and tantalizing. And this is a type of book that you can't get away with, and can't get it out of your mind without reading it full, in one go. I really enjoyed the messiness, the secrets, the trips to basement, the spookiness of the basement and the building as a whole. Plus, the photographs are for sure a booster for making a person frightened at night.

It was awesome, frightening, had plot twists, had secrets, had the insanity, and also the characters' thinking was relateable. Totally worth the shot.
