final thoughts: I’ve heard great things about Abby’s previous series (where some old side characters are now featured as MCs in this series!) and this didn’t disappoint. This book was heavy on world building with a then and now timeline, setting up the relationships between the 3 MCs so far, and getting to know the inner thoughts of these MCs.
Greedy is such a sweet cinnamon roll who has only ever had eyes for Hunter, calls her sweet nicknames, wants to give her the world, and is willing to wait for however long it takes to win her back and prove that there are “no wrong moves”.
Levi is a sweet country boy who was mostly content to be 3rd wheel to his best friend Greedy after he started dating Hunter. Things take a turn after a career ending injury forces him back home for surgery and recovery. Luckily, Hunter is willing to play the fake girlfriend, move him into their home, and help nurse him back to help all to avoid Levi’s overbearing religious mother. What could go wrong bunking with the lovers-turned-stepsiblings when they’re both still pining for each other?
I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how Hunter and Greedy went from being totally in love to surprise stepsiblings and how that relationship was going to play out. The cliffhanger was great and left me needing more with a secret revealed, a new character introduced, and tons of questions left unanswered between the 3 best friends.
