These were my favorite books in 2nd grade and I ended up in a used book store so I picked up the first 4 in the series. Maybe this is where my obsessive thoughts of how someone would have handled my life situations back in the 1800s began?
I enjoyed this book but was surprised to find some parts semi-boring. Like the in depth descriptions of making head cheese and such were a little boring and I was like get to the point? But also, I get that it is interesting in comparing to life now.
There are a few comments that did not age super well but that's to be expected in a book from the 1930s.
