This was fun but there were things that annoyed me and made it just an okay read.
The second Linnea steps off the plane Caleb thinks to himself how hot she is and then continuously comments on it to himself. Linnea I could forgive her little crush on him because that’s what it read like a crush, not an obsession on how hot the other one was. And the fact that Caleb was married to her sister and this is his first reaction to seeing her in years, was a little icky.
I appreciate the fact that it did take awhile before they got together, there was some time passing but I would have liked to see more bonding moments between the two. And when they get together they get together, there was no wasting time. Which leads me into another thing…they went on a date, slept together and the next day Linnea expects Caleb to let Charlotte know they’re together?? Girl, that’s a delicate thing. Like yes she already likes you cause she knows and you’ve been taking care of her but you don’t want to get her hopes up if this isn’t going to be a long term thing and you guys JUST decided to date. Her expecting him to immediately tell her came across naive.
I liked that Charlotte was a big part of this book, it helped set up the family dynamics seeing them all interact with her. But my god they used her little nickname all the time! It was always Bug this and Bug that. I’m fine with a nickname but hate when they’re overused.
And omg the conflict they had to get over was annoying. He was pushing her away before she even left and made her feel like she had done something wrong. She didn’t even say she wanted to go to the stupid audition. And then he made her feel bad when she promised Charlotte that she’d be back for parents night. Maybe she prioritizes your child over other things.
If you take out the things that annoyed I did enjoy it.
