So, the wonderful Victoria herself gave me an arc of this and I could not be more grateful!

This was so wonderfully unique. I'm constantly surprised by all different and original ideas Victoria comes up with, and this really took the cake. The writing was wonderful and very easy to read, which I was happy about. And the characters were so interesting! A monster who doesn't want to be a monster and a girl who does.

The type of monsters and the way they were created were so cool and interesting! Everything about this book, to be honest, was cool and interesting. I loved almost all the characters (I think Ilsa and Allegro are my faves) and the setting was great because it was familiar but at the same time not.

And the ending! Especially the last few pages, oh my goodness, they intrigued me so so much.

I'm already so pumped for the second book, how will I ever make it to next summer?!
